Dent Wizard is a leader in wheel repair with more than 150 Wheel Repair Technicians across the United States. Our wheel repair specialists restore wheels and wheel covers with minor scrapes, scratches and scuffs to their original sheen. We are also pioneering methods of more advance wheel straightening and repair.

Dent Wizards Wheel Repair Technicians are nothing short of excellent. Our wheel repair techs deliver quality refinishing on site at our customer locations with state-of-the art equipment and technology at our fingertips. For environmental and safety reasons, wheels are removed by a qualified technician, repaired in our mobile truck and placed back on the customer's vehicle.

Our Wheel Technicians use HVLP spray equipment in our environmentally friendly and safety conscious wheel trucks that come standard with 98% efficient filter medias, explosion proof filtration and fixtures, and are outfitted with all premixed and pre-matched OEM wheel colors to best service our customers.

Training for Wheel Technician Jobs

Dent Wizard offers a three week Wheel Repair Training program to all new Wheel Technicians at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO. During this comprehensive hands-on training you work with an experienced Master Wheel Tech instructor to develop the skills and techniques you need to be successful in this trade.

With a limited class size and individualized instruction we provide focused, one-on-one time with each new employee to provide wheel repair training on the basic wheel technology and the benefit of repair over replacement. The 3 week training is broken out weekly with each weeks training increasing in difficulty. At the end of the training you receive a framed certificate that shows you have successfully completed the training program.

  • Week 1 – Basic Wheel Repairs (curb rash, scratches, and scrapes) & Basic Paint Skills (base and clear coat)
  • Week 2 – Specialty Skills (Hyper Silver, Polished Finish, and Machine Finish Wheels)
  • Week 3 – Wheel Corrosion Repair, Chrome Repair, Wheel Straightening

Wheel Technician Job Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record required (for mobile positions).
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, & reach.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
  • Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds (wheels, light hand tools, etc.)
  • Respirators must be worn, and other protective equipment may be required to minimize frequent exposure to toxic chemicals.
  • For some wheel positions 1 - 2 years auto painting experience may be required.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills required.

Wheel Repair Tech Application Process

We then ask candidates to come to one of our nearby operations for a more in-depth personal interview, and when possible we also ask experienced Wheel Techs to provide a work demonstration to show their knowledge and ability.
